When it comes to whitewater paddling, Brevard is hard to beat. As one of the Eastern U.S.’ only temperate rainforests, as well as over 500,000 acres of protected forests full of creeks, rivers and waterfalls, it’s easy to see why Transylvania County is known as The Land of Waterfalls. With great whitewater paddling options like the Upper Davidson River, the North Fork of the French Broad River and the Little River in DuPont State Forest, it’s easy to see why whitewater paddling enthusiasts have been flocking to Brevard for years. Nearby paddling options like the Green River Gorge only solidify Brevard’s place as one of the top whitewater paddling destinations in the country.  To see for yourself, check out this video from Native Eyewear that we shot for the 2013 Local’s Only Project and see for yourself what makes Brevard’s whitewater paddling so special.
